spheres

This project was about the relationship between the two dimentional and the three dimensional in the physical and the digital space.
My initial notion was that if the tactile is the sensory experience of touch, then the more touchable surface there is in an object, the more tactility. Therefore I wanted to find out what a flat image looks like as a 3D object. And what happens when it's again made into a flat, physical image?

I started out with a photograph of my hand on my laptop's touchpad. I made it into a 3D sphere and then flattened the object into an image. I then repeated that process 23 times.
